The DELL Carnival
An Interaction between Dell officials and Community Children of
Dell YouthConnect program

 

"Happy Faces"

October 9th, 2009, Dell officials spent an exciting day interacting with the community children representing various neighboring schools at the Chiranjiv Bharati School, Palam Vihar, Gurgaon.

An update was shared by Nisha Dua on the background of the community children and the positive outcome of the DELL Youth Connect Program. She spoke about the shift in the learning process from students being just computer illiterate to more involved and interested. She was delighted to inform them that today the students were active participants and apart from learning the computer skills, they were attempting to find out day neighborhood problems were also discussing the solutions.

A class 6th student from New Horizon School welcomed the guests, while some others shared their experiences and requested that the program should be continued so that more and more children could get the opportunity to learn.

Mr Vikhyat from DELL shared the history of the DELL company and its message “Always dream big and try to achieve your dreams.

Mr Nishal, also a DELL executive divided the students in 5 teams and conducted a small quiz for the children . He asked various simple questions based on current events and also related to computers. He and his colleagues were very delighted at the ready knowledge of the children.

Later on the children were taken to the school ground where the DELL officials had organized many games for them. The children were very excited and participated in all the activities with full enthusiasm.

To give a happy ending to the day the Dell officials distributed the sweets and gifts to each child.

The DELL Team was very impressed by the paradigm shift Learning Links Foundation has managed to create in the lives of community children. They were keen to be more involved in the process and volunteered to visit on the last day of each training batch to keep up the motivational levels for the team and the children and to be a part of this rewarding process.
